Brief Bio: 

Mr. Boadu currently works as a lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering of the Kumasi Technical University. His areas of interest are Construction Projects Management, Water Supply, Drainage Engineering, Project Planning and Control, Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Health and Safety Management etc. His teaching activities comprise tenure of numerous classes within the curricula of Higher National Diploma (HND) and Bachelor of Technology (B’Tech) in Civil Engineering at the Kumasi Technical University in Ghana. He has taught and continue to teach courses such as Engineering Hydrology, Hydraulics, Waste Management, Drainage Engineering, Construction Project Management, Site Organization, etc

Mr. Boadu’s experience in the planning, organization, supervision and control of examinations is very remarkable. He has been involved in the organisation of examinations in the Kumasi Technical University since 2005, moving from Departmental Examinations Officer to Faculty Examinations and now the Chief Examinations Officer of the University. Again, he serves as the Chairman of the University Examinations Audit Committee.

  • Oct. 2007    Attended training on the treatment processes of wastewater in the Netherlands at the Environmental Science Laboratory in the Van Hall Larenstein (University of Applied Science) in Leeuwarden. The training and tour was purposely organized by Royal Haskoning, Groningen as part of his training in the company.
  • Sept. 2007    Attended seminar on Cost effectiveness in groundwater protection in Assen (Province of Drenthe), The Netherlands. This seminar was organized under the Water4All Project which is an European Union sponsored programme and has the following partners: Denmark (North Denmark EU-office and Aalborg Municipality), The Netherlands (Provincie Drenthe), Great Britain (Environment Agency, The National Groundwater and Contaminated Land Centre, Solihull) and Germany (District Adminstration of Weser Ems and the Water board of Oldenburg and Ostfriesland (OOWV)):
  • Feb. 2007    Obtained Certificate in the Management of Health and Safety in Construction from Hanze University of Applied Science, Groningen after two months training and successfully passing examinations and projects.
  • April, 2006    Attended two weeks workshop on the development of curriculum for Civil Engineering education in Ghana on the Competency Based Training (CBT) concept of education. The workshop was organized under Nuffic’s NPT project for the Civil Engineering Departments of Kumasi and Takoradi Polytechnics
  • Feb. 2006    Obtained Certificate in Health and Safety Management in Construction from the HAN University of Applied Science, Netherlands after attending a week’s seminar organized in Kumasi.
  • Dec. 2005    Attended a two week seminar on Leadership and Management organized under Nuffic’s NPT project for the Civil Engineering Departments of Kumasi and Takoradi Polytechnics.
